Luciana was brought up at home in Rome by her parents - Luciana's father was Manlio Paoluzzi, an Italian army officer and her maternal grandmother was Maria Rota Paoluzzi who was the one of Benito's mistresses. There are no known siblings. Luciana was a student at a local school before matriculating at the Scientific Academy of Milan in 1955. Luciana was one of only two females in the class. Within two years she started her modeling career. Soon after, she had the opportunity to appear in Three Coins in the Fountain when she was in Rome visiting a family friend of her father. Brett Halsey was the first woman she got married to. He is an actor. After their wedding in 1960, the couple produced the film Return to the Peyton Palace. Luciana and Charles had a child who was named Charles on June 13, 1961. But, they split up a year after his birth. Luciana then gained custody. Luciana was in a relationship with Tony Athony from 1962 and 1970. Tony is a producer and actor who had the idea by her character to write and direct The Spaghetti Western hybrid based on her character in the film as Green Slime.
