She began her career in the 1980s, and became famous due to her portrayal of Siobhan Ryan on the soap opera for daytime viewers Ryan's Hope from 1982 to the year 1986. Catherine Willows is her most famous role in CBS's police procedural drama. Crime Scene Investigation (2000-13) and the subsequent TV movie Immortality (2015). Vegas is her sequel, and she's been reprising the character until 2022. Helgenberger was also in the character K.C. Koloski, a character in ABC's drama China Beach (1988-91) earned Helgenberger the Emmy Award 1990 for Outstanding actress in a Drama Series. There are also roles on her role on the TV series Under the Dome as well as Intelligence. She also appeared in the films Species (2000) Erin Brockovich (2000) Species II (2002) and Mr. Brooks (2007). For her work she earned 4 Daytime Emmy Award nominations. McCain's other endeavors include becoming an Daily Mail columnist after her stint of three years at The View. In addition, she wrote four books: My Dad John McCain in 2008 Dirty Sexy Politics in 2010 America You Sexy Bitch: A Heartfelt Love Letter to Freedom, co-written with Michael Ian Black in 2012 and Bad Republican in 2022.
