Ali MacGraw

Ali MacGraw aka Elizabeth Alice MacGraw was an American actress, activist for animals and writer who was awarded numerous awards. Love Story (1970), Goodbye Columbus '69 and The Getaway 72 are among her most famous movies. Growing up in an artistic family in New York she wished to work in the field of art. Her first job was as a photographer's assistant before moving on to modeling and acting. Her two first films got noticed and earned her an award called the Golden Globe Award of Most Newcomer of the Year. MacGraw's Love Story from 1970 was one of the biggest hits that gained her fame worldwide, as well as an Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe Award. After just three short films MacGraw was named one of the most successful women at the box office in history. Her handprints, autograph and footprints were engraved in 1972 by Grauman's Chinese Theater. Some of the films she's been in are The Getaway Convoy Players as in the mini-series on TV The Winds of War. In 1991, her autobiography Moving Pictures came out. MacGraw has married thrice.
